Help Needed for Story on Old Gym and Stage

"As 7th graders some of us were involved in the minuet by Mozart.  I can no longer sing, but I remember the words and tune that accompanied our stately dancing of the minuet after many practices with Sisters Ermina Quilty and Veronica Considine. Our costumes were very authentic and we wore lovely white wigs which were rolls of cotton. My partner (man) was Bernadine Diskin. I have asked her if we might try to re-create the dance just for fun. She recently performed in California and Wichita in Sister Act II.

When I was in elementary school, Sister Ignatius Hayden was teaching drama in high school. She was quite insistent about using authentic costumes for the Romans and Palestinians for the Passion Play and rented costumes from New York, much to the consternation of the Pastor, Father Joseph Gartland, C. P.  However, it really was a magnificent production in that little “theater”."

March 9, 2008. The new school addition has us thinking about the history of the old building on the highway. We'd like to compile a story about the old gymnasium and stage originally in the St. Francis School. If you can provide any information, pictures, or simply fond memories you'll make this story a reality. Just email the information to the Editor below. Thank you.
