November 17, 2008. The Southeast Sunflower 4-H club held their monthly meeting on Sunday, November 9, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis Parish Hall in St. Paul, KS. Roll called was, “What is your favorite kind of donut,” and was answered by 27 members and 3 leaders. Leader Kim Spielbusch handed out awards from the 4-H achievement banquet, which took place the previous night. Also the leaders handed out yearbooks from the 2007-09 year. New business: Grant Smith motioned to build a float for the St. Paul Christmas parade and Brent Vitt seconded it. DJ Vitt motioned to have the Christmas gift exchange limit set at $5, and that boys bring boy’s gifts and girls bring girl’s gifts, and Brent Vitt seconded it. Brent Vitt moved to carol and buy items for a Christmas basket for Prairie Mission Retirement Home, and Aubrey Corn seconded it. Project talks were given by Jacob Gard on Swine, Grant Smith on Rocketry and Market Goat, and DJ Vitt on Swine. Jenna Terlip presented a demonstration on how to properly mount photos for the photography project. After adjournment, members and their families enjoyed juice and donuts. Next month’s meeting will be December 14, 2008 with caroling and Christmas exchange to follow the meeting. October 31, 2008. The Southeast Sunflower 4-H club held their monthly meeting on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the St. Francis Parish Hall in St. Paul, KS. Roll called was “Name what you’re going to be for Halloween” and was answered by 18 members, 5 guests, and 4 leaders. Marcia Gard, leader, encouraged Senior members to sign up for junior leaders and for leadership. Officers training will be November 6, at the courthouse. The Achievement banquet committee will need to show up at 5:30 to show up and decorate on November 8th, in Chanute. Junior leaders will be taken to the forest of fright spook trail on October 18th. New business: It was properly moved and seconded to go to the church of our club president for 4-H Sunday, St. Francis catholic church, on November 9th. After Adjourning the club met at Colleen and Mike Carter’s house for games, cookout, and fellowship. The next meeting will be held November 9th at St. Francis 10 o’clock a.m. mass with donuts, juice, and meeting to follow. |
